SkillsUSA conference showcases CMS and CHS student achievements

The recent SkillsUSA conference and competition highlighted the talents of CMS and CHS students, who demonstrated their skills across various categories. The event celebrated career readiness and excellence among participants.

Prachhi Patel achieved first place in the Career Promotional Bulletin Board for 9th and 10th graders. In the Commercial UAS Drones category, James Afdahl and Paiden White secured second place. The Quiz Bowl Team, consisting of Hans Ceballos, Mandy Chen, Jayden Heath, Pippa McKinney, Eduardo Orellana, and Isaac Tibbs, earned third place.

Heli Patel won first place in SkillsUSA Pin Design. Addy Bramblett and Georgia Smith placed second in Sports Hype Video. Lowry Duggin and Noah Schutz took third place in Trial Advocacy. Sara Elise Gallman continued her success by winning first place in T-Shirt Design for the third year running.

CMS students also performed well with Emilio Ambrocio, Cristian Chavez, and Cole Wilbanks winning gold in Career Pathways Showcase (Industrial & Engineering Design). Katherine Castillo took gold for Promotional Poster while Abigail Palencia Monzon won gold for T-Shirt Design.

Silver medals were awarded to Hajrah Qureshi for Prepared Speech and Hayleigh Barrett & Isabella Clark for Sports Hype Video.

Additional CHS competitors included Jazmin Aguilar, Janeth Cruz, Emily Guzman, Yasmin Reyes, Brianna Soria in Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl; Nishi Patel in Customer Service; Ava Dobash in Extemporaneous Speaking; Olivia Dodd in Job Interview; Gracie Russell in Job Demo; Marely Reyes-Ugarte, Giulianna Lopez, Selinne Martinez-Cardozo in Law Public Safety Security & Corrections Display; Paiden White again competing in Mathematical Concepts (9-10); Riya Patel in Photography; Will Pass in Plumbing; Tanvi Dhavade with a Promotional Poster entry; Max Ford creating a Promotional Video; Michael Engel & Matthew Hurley involved with Scriptwriting; Eduardo Orellana & Jayden Heath working on Short Film projects; Abbi Taylor & Hudson Chadwick on Sports Highlight Video production; Cate Rutland Trent Ferguson Georgia Smith Ashly Gallardo producing Video News Production content as well as Haley Prather Gracie Russell developing Vlogs.

The school community expressed pride over these achievements which reflect impressive career readiness skills displayed by all competitors during this weekend's events.
