Rome High School's show choir, Grand Finale, achieved a significant victory at the Peach State Invitational in Tift County, securing the overall Grand Champion Trophy. The group excelled by winning Best Overall Effect and Best Vocals, with Noah Beard earning Best Soloist in a show. Lathaen Day also claimed the best soloist title in the concurrent solo competition.

Director Dr. Cody Goss expressed pride in the group's performance against larger schools, stating, "I’m super proud. They killed it. It was awesome." He noted that this marks their third consecutive first-place finish.

Local audiences will have an opportunity to witness Grand Finale's award-winning performance on March 13 at the Rome City Auditorium alongside Grand Illusion. Goss emphasized the show's entertainment value: "You don't want to miss this show because it's probably the most entertaining show we've ever done here."

Grand Finale chose to compete in a higher classification at Tift County and emerged victorious despite facing larger choirs. Goss remarked on their achievement: “It was really awesome winning at Tifton because we knew we had to go against some schools that were larger than us."

Looking ahead, Grand Finale is preparing for its final competition of the season at the Brandon Show Choir Elite Competition in Mississippi on March 29. Goss shared his excitement about performing at an outdoor amphitheater venue: “We're going to Brandon and it's an outdoor amphitheater venue... So we're going to get some good quality competition.”
