Rome High School students achieved significant success at the recent FCCLA State Leadership Competition held in Columbus. Participants from the school secured a total of eight gold medals and five silver medals through their participation in the STAR Events Competition.
The students who earned gold medals were Melanie Ramirez-Sian, Nancy Puac-Mendaz, Diego Reyes, Joshua Eaves, Samantha Acevedo, Alexa Acevedo, Madison Major, and Cierra Mobbs. Among the gold medalists, Cierra Mobbs stood out for her Sustainability Project, not only taking home a gold medal but also qualifying for the FCCLA National Conference in Orlando. This marks her second appearance at the national level.
Silver medals were awarded to Ashlyn Ixmay-Vicente, Desiree Garcia, Leslie Vicente-Ramos, Lashmi Rodriguez, and Addison Marshall. Furthermore, Rome High had four students compete in the STATE Events. These students included Adalyn Tyree, Kevin Lam, Diego Orellana, and Montana Boggs.
Notably, Kevin Lam achieved second place in the state with his Digital Delish Dish project, earning him a $75 prize.
