12 Asian students enrolled in Chattooga County school districts in 2022-23 school year

There were 12 Asian students enrolled in Chattooga County school districts in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Data showed that Chattooga County school districts welcomed 3,717 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the county's school districts.

The main offices of all school districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Chattooga County.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, which is better than the national average of 16:1. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
