Floyd County Schools: Rome High School welcomed most students in 2022-23 school year

Rome High School had the highest enrollment among Floyd County schools, welcoming 2,042 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were male, and 50% were female.

The most represented ethnicity among Rome High School students was Hispanic, with 40% of students identifying as such.

Among the eight schools in Floyd County, Rome Middle School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 961 students, while West End Elementary School welcomed 926 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Rome High School is part of Rome City School District, which generally encompasses schools within Floyd County, with its main office in Rome.

In the previous school year, Rome High School also had the highest number of students among Floyd County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
