Calhoun High School cross country continued to improve on Tuesday at the Fast Break Challenge at Heritage High School (Catoosa) against approximately 30 teams from Georgia and Tennessee. The boys placed 8th with Xavier Hinojosa (17:53) and Enders Cinto (18:03) leading the way. They were followed by Devon Dornan, Dillon Harris, Anthony Valazquez, Nicholas Repp, and James Allen. The boys averaged 18:47 for the race.
The girls finished 13th with an average time of 24:21. Carolynn Dooley led the way with a 9th place medal finish and time of 21:40. She was followed by Debora Lopez, Giulianna Lopez, Beyonce Brito, Sofia Carreto, Meleana Adcock, and Caylon Trundle. The JV runners also excelled and were led by Walker Hurd, Joshua Blackwell, Kylie Holmes, and Kaylie Holmes. Calhoun will look to extend their long streak of state qualifications next week when they compete in the 7-AAAAA Region Championship at Woodland High School on Tuesday. SWARM!
