Calhoun City Schools has announced that Calhoun Middle School and Calhoun High School have been recognized as Math Leaders by the Georgia Department of Education. Calhoun Middle School received recognition for Outstanding Achievement, while Calhoun High School was acknowledged for Growth in mathematics. These awards are based on performance in the Algebra: Concepts and Connections End-of-Course (EOC) test, which is a state assessment for high school mathematics.
The Math Leader Awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional achievement or growth in the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient Learner level or above in mathematics. This accolade highlights the efforts of students, educators, and the community in mastering new K-12 mathematics standards aimed at building a strong foundation in numeracy.
