Alpharetta High School recently issued the following announcement.
PSAT TESTING
The PSAT will be administered to all enrolled students in grades 9-11 on Wednesday, October 13th. This will be a face-to-face administration. This test administration is optional and there is no penalty for students who choose not to participate. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 following the PSAT.
For our seniors, October 13th will be an asynchronous day of learning from home.
FAQs:
Do I need to sign my child up to take the PSAT?
No, all enrolled students in grades 9-11 will participate in the PSAT, if they choose.
Do I need to notify you if my child is not going to take the PSAT?
No, there is no need to notify the PSAT coordinator if your child will not be taking the PSAT.
Is this test mandatory?
No, the PSAT is a practice assessment for the SAT and is not required. If you choose for your child not to participate you may use the following link to have your student prepare for the SAT with Khan Academy.
Is there a make-up test opportunity if I miss the October 13 test?
No, there will not be any make-up testing.
Will there be early dismissal?
Yes, students will be dismissed at 12:30 unless they are testing with accommodations. Parents of students who are testing with accommodations will receive an email informing them of the pickup time for those students.
Will the busses be providing transportation?
Yes, students can ride the bus before and after school.
Will lunch be provided?
Yes, there will be a grab-and-go lunch for students.
What are the COVID-19 procedures during testing?
All students will be required to wear masks during testing and will be following school safety protocols.
Where is my student testing?
All students/parents will receive an email informing them of their student’s testing location. Please be sure to take a snapshot of the room number, as this will probably be different from your child’s regular advisement room.
