57 percent of applicants to Shorter University were admitted for fall 2018

At Shorter University, 78 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Rome enrolled 1,452 students in fall 2018, including 1,352 in undergraduate and 100 in graduate programs, data shows. 9.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

81 percent of undergraduates are residents of Georgia, and 18 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (61 percent) and Black or African American (23 percent).

The school admitted 57 percent of the 1,780 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
