Calhoun City Schools announces winners of Young Georgia Authors competition

Calhoun City Schools has announced the winners of the 2025 Young Georgia Authors Competition, celebrating the achievements of student writers across various grade levels. The competition is recognized for encouraging creativity and writing skills among students.

The following students have been named as grade-level winners: Isabella Afdahl (Kindergarten), Riven Caldwell (1st Grade), Clyde Coombe (2nd Grade), McKenzie Walraven (3rd Grade), Kelcie Parker (4th Grade), Joshua Jordan (5th Grade), Caly To (6th Grade), Evangeline Afdahl (7th Grade), Helena Bennett (8th Grade), Jenna Proctor (9th Grade), Pippa McKinney (10th Grade), Noah Schutz (11th Grade) and Sara Elise Gallman (12th Grade).

These students will now have the opportunity to compete at the regional level. "We are incredibly proud of these young authors for their dedication and talent! Great job, Jackets!" stated a representative from Calhoun City Schools.
