The majority of students in Chattooga County School Districts were white in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Among the 3,717 students attending Chattooga County schools, 74.6% were white. Hispanic students were the second most common ethnicity, making up 12.3% of Chattooga County student body.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common ethnicity in Chattooga County School Districts, representing 75.6% of the student body.

Trion City School District had the most diverse student body in the county, which included Asian, African American, Hispanic, multiracial, and white.

In the 2022-23 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county increased 1.4% when compared to the previous year.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Chattooga County.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, which is better than the national average of 16:1. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
