Of the 36,332 citizens living in Rome in 2019, 27,721 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 14,808 of those people were female and 12,913 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
