Calhoun High School's Class of 2025 is actively exploring post-secondary opportunities. Recently, seniors participated in a session with their 12th-grade counselor, Kendra Arnold, focusing on GEORGIA MATCH. This program aims to simplify the college selection process by providing students with a clear roadmap for their next steps. "This program helps simplify what can be an overwhelming process by giving our students a clear direction for their next steps," said Arnold. GEORGIA MATCH offers a personalized approach by identifying potential college opportunities based on students' academic performance.

In addition to the GEORGIA MATCH session, Calhoun High School seniors took part in Apply to College Day and Military Careers Day as part of November's Apply to College Month. These events have initiated the Class of 2025's college application process by offering meetings with college admissions counselors and exploration of military career pathways. With many Georgia colleges waiving application fees throughout November, these initiatives provide an ideal start for students considering future college and military options.

GEORGIA MATCH provides seniors with a curated list of colleges and universities they are eligible for based on their HOPE GPA through 11th grade. This tool assists students in quickly identifying which Georgia institutions they qualify for and supports them in applying to colleges of interest. The listed colleges include those from the Technical College System of Georgia and the University System of Georgia, offering a broad range of opportunities for consideration. Students can apply to their top choices from this personalized list via the GAfutures Student Dashboard.

It is important to note that the colleges listed through GEORGIA MATCH represent provisional acceptances and do not guarantee official admission. Final admission decisions depend on each institution's criteria, as well as the student's final transcript and graduation status.
