In the week ending Mar. 7, one gas station in Chattooga County sold regular gas at the lowest reported price of $2.59 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The county registered an average of $2.95 per gallon for regular gas.
Of the 25 reported gas stations in cities within Chattooga County, eight offered regular gas.
For comparison, the average price of regular gas in Georgia was $3.16 per gallon for the week ending Mar. 7, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects global oil stockpiles to keep growing into 2026, a trend that could weigh on crude prices in the near term.
