The Henry County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation announced the application period for their 2023 Scholarship for Young Women opens on Monday, Nov. 14. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to Henry County high school students who meet the qualifying criteria. The application period to qualify closes at midnight Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.
The scholarships are made available to all junior and senior level female students attending Henry County Schools, private schools, and home school students in Henry County. The Henry County Chamber of Commerce Women’s Leadership Council coordinates the annual scholarship program, now in its fifth year.
As part of the qualifying process, students submit a 500-word essay about their efforts to prepare for college and career aspirations through academic excellence and community service. Henry County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Joseph Henning will announce the scholarship winners during the 2023 Women’s EmPOWERment Summit on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Thanking the Chamber’s Women’s Leadership Council, Henning said that the Chamber’s Education Foundation is proud to annually present these two scholarships to young women who demonstrate resilience and purpose at this stage in their lives.
