USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - Oct. 19, 2022

MEN'S GOLF (considering events from 10/5-18)

Men's Golfer of the Week

JZeke Dukes, Greensboro - The junior from Houston, Texas placed tied for second out of 124 golfers at the Royal Lakes Invitational two weeks ago by shooting a seven-under par 137. In the two-round event, Dukes opened with a two-under par 72 and finished with a five-under par 67. Also Nominated: Chase Walts, Methodist; Santiago Larumbe, N,C Wesleyan. 

Men's Golf Rookie of the Week

Guido Guevara, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Argentina placed third out of 21 golfers at the Beechwood Collegiate Invitational last week by shooting a five-over par 149. In the two-round event, Guevara opened with a four-over par 76 and finished with a one-over par 73. Also Nominated: David D'Agostino, Methodist; Nick O'Brien, Southern Virginia; Haran Panchu, Greensboro.

 

WOMEN'S GOLF

Women's Golfer of the Week (considering events from 10/5-18)

Emily Gresham, Methodist - The freshman from Binghamton, New York placed tied for tenth of 120 golfers at the Golfweek Division III Fall Preview last week by shooting an eight-over par 224. In the three-round event, Gresham opened with a six-over par 78 followed by back-to-back one-over par 73s to finish. Also Nominated: Rosie Oettli, Southern Virginia. 

Women's Golf Rookie of the Week

CC Banz, Southern Virginia - The freshman from Salt Lake City, Utah placed tied for fifth out of 58 golfers at the Southern Virginia Invitational two weeks ago by shooting a 15-over par 159. In the two-round event, Banz opened with an eight-over par 80 and finished with a seven-over par 79. Also Nominated: Rachel Harris, Maryville; Briana Willis, Huntingdon.
