First Photo Kiosk Installed at Georgia Visitor Information Center in Ringgold

Visitors to the Georgia Visitor Information Center (VIC) in Ringgold can now picture themselves in Henry County – literally. Visit Henry County, GA, installed the first-ever, self-serve photo kiosk at a Georgia VIC on Wednesday, July 13. Located at the Ringgold center, the photo kiosk is complete with 12 Henry County location backgrounds.

“This is the realization of seven years of research, planning, and waiting,” said Laura Luker, Director of Tourism at Visit Henry County, GA. “We have been using green screen technology at events since 2015, but the ability to do so without a green screen has been a relatively new advancement – one I am excited we are finally able to take advantage of.”

The self-serve photo kiosk offers guests the opportunity to choose a Henry County background scene, take a photo, and text or email the photo to themselves for social media sharing. Positioned next to the photo kiosk is a custom brochure rack built by BarnBeautiful, a business located in Henry County’s city of Stockbridge. Visitors can snap a picture and then take a visitors guide, even when the VIC is closed.

“Henry County’s self-serve photo kiosk is an exciting addition to our center and complements our efforts to elevate the visitor experience,” said Ontaria Finch, Manager at the Ringgold VIC. “The photo kiosk offers a fun, engaging way for our visitors to discover and be inspired to explore Henry County during their travels through our state.”

The Ringgold VIC is located on Interstate 75 just south of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Henry County, making it an ideal location for southbound travelers to learn more about the county and its tourism offerings. The Ringgold center is one of nine VICs managed by Explore Georgia, the tourism division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and welcomes over 1.8 million visitors each year.
