1

Brinson Askew Berry Seigler issued the following announcement on July 7

Brinson Askew Berry partner Andy Davis recently assisted the City of Blue Ridge with a request to the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) for a review of the the municipality’s parking contract bidding process.

Davis reported back that GMA decided against an investigation. The inquiry was reported in the local News Observer newspaper in Blue Ridge.

“As requested, I inquired with GIRMA (Georgia Interlocal Risk Management Agency) and GMA to see if an investigation into your parking issue could be conducted by us on behalf of GIRMA and GMA,” Davis wrote into an email to the Blue Ridge city clerk and city attorney. “GMA has declined to authorize an investigation into the allegations surrounding the parking issue referenced in the city council meeting from Tuesday, June 15, 2021. This is a matter the city should consult with its city attorney. It is not a litigation matter for GIRMA and GMA to take up.”

Davis had been hired by GMA and GIRMA on another matter with Blue Ridge and the city asked Davis to contact the agencies on the parking contract request.
