Pre-Kindergarten registration for Rome City Schools will begin on Monday, January 26, and close on Thursday, February 12. Registration will be open each day from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the individual schools.

The district provides Pre-K classes at Anna K. Davie, Elm Street, Main, West Central, and West End Elementary Schools. There is also a Pre-K Inclusion class available at West End. Completed registration packets must be submitted by Thursday, February 12 at 2 p.m. to be included in the lottery selection process.

Enrollment in the Rome City Schools (RCS) Pre-K program is based on a lottery with three tiers:
– Tier I: Applicants living within the specific school’s attendance zone
– Tier II: Applicants residing within any RCS attendance zone
– Tier III: Applicants living outside of all RCS attendance zones

Applications from Tier I are drawn first to fill available spots; if slots remain, Tier II applications are considered next, followed by Tier III. Applications not selected through the lottery will be placed on a waitlist.

To register a child for Pre-K, parents or guardians must provide several documents:
– Identification for parent or guardian (with guardianship documentation if applicable)
– Student’s birth certificate (the child must be four years old on or before September 1)
– Proof of Georgia residency and attendance zone (acceptable utility bills include those for Georgia Power, water, or gas; driver’s licenses and cell phone bills are not accepted)

Additional documents may be required once a student is accepted into the program.

For more information about attendance zones or other questions related to registration, families can contact their nearest RCS elementary school or call the district office at 706.236.5050.

Rome City School District offers educational programs from kindergarten through high school and supports students with academic instruction and services tailored to diverse needs. The district also provides advanced courses, career preparation opportunities, enrichment activities such as arts and athletics, and technology resources for all students under policies set by its governing board (official website).
