Rome City Schools has introduced a new recognition program, the 20 Under 40 Award, aimed at celebrating notable young alumni from Rome High School. The award seeks to honor individuals who have demonstrated significant professional accomplishments and service within their communities.

According to the district, nominees should be graduates of Rome High School and under the age of 40 as of January 1, 2025. Selected candidates will need to provide a photograph for publication by Rome City Schools across various platforms.

The nomination process is open to both community nominations and self-nominations. A selection committee will review all submissions to determine if nominees align with the values of Rome City Schools. Those meeting the criteria will be invited to submit further information for consideration.

Nominations begin on October 1, 2025, and close on October 31, 2025. Applications are due by December 1, with winners announced on January 30, 2026. An awards luncheon honoring the selected alumni is scheduled for late March or early April in Rome.

Rome City Schools stated: “The Rome City Schools 20 Under 40 Award has been established to recognize members of the Rome City Schools family for extraordinary accomplishments, significant professional achievements, and distinguished service to others.”

While this initial program targets younger alumni, officials also announced plans for a future initiative recognizing those over age 40 beginning in 2026.
