Rome City Schools has announced the introduction of the Stopfinder app for the upcoming school year, aiming to improve communication and safety for families using district transportation services.

The Stopfinder app allows parents and guardians to track their children’s school bus in real time. The service is free and offers customizable alerts regarding bus locations. In addition, it provides a secure platform for two-way communication between families and district transportation officials, ensuring that only authorized users can access specific school bus information.

“We are excited to be rolling out the Stopfinder App for the new school year,” said Elander Graham, Rome City Schools Director of Transportation. “This is a great tool to help parents and guardians know where their child’s bus is in real time.”

The app integrates with the district’s routing system, enabling targeted communications. For instance, if a road closure causes a delay, only affected families will receive notifications about that particular situation. Beyond tracking buses, Stopfinder also gives access to bus stop details and schedule information.

Rome City Schools noted that combining the new app with its existing Zonar Bus Pass System represents an ongoing effort to use technology to enhance safety for students and staff.
