Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene recently expressed her perspectives on several pressing issues through a series of social media posts. Serving since 2021, Greene represents Georgia’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress, having taken over from former representative Tom Graves. Born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974, Greene currently resides in Rome and holds a BBA degree from the University of Georgia, obtained in 1996.
On May 2, Greene conveyed her unease regarding the current geopolitical landscape, stating, “I represent the base and when I’m frustrated and upset over the direction of things, you better be clear, the base is not happy.” She highlighted her platform against foreign wars and criticized the potential military engagement with Iran, saying, “I campaigned for no more foreign wars. And now we are supposedly on the verge of going to war with Iran.”
On the following day, Greene addressed immigration policy, asserting, “We must deport illegal aliens first and foremost.” Additionally, she advocated for an amendment to census procedures, stating, “And more importantly, we must change the law to require only American citizens counted in the census.” This viewpoint reflects her stance on prioritizing the legal recognition of American citizens.
In another post on the same day, Greene reflected on past legislative decisions, mentioning her vote in support of a Biden/Democrat funding and policy CR. She remarked, “I gave my vote for a Biden/Democrat funding and policy CR once because my President asked me to, but I will not do it again.” She outlined her future voting criteria, emphasizing, “I will not vote to fund a single penny or bullet to Ukraine.” This statement underscores her position on foreign aid and military spending.
