With a total enrollment of 376 for 2024-25, 4% of Trion High School’s students identified as multiracial, ranking as the second-smallest demographic group on campus.

More than 1.7 million students attended public schools in Georgia, based on the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 enrollment data. Chronic absenteeism continues to be a significant concern in Georgia post-pandemic. In 2024, 20.7% of students missed at least 10% of school days, the Georgia Department of Education reports. In response, GaDOE initiated a statewide program featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, awareness campaigns, and support for districts identified with high absenteeism rates.
Georgia lawmakers enacted an update to attendance laws in 2025 to prohibit expelling students solely for being absent. The legislation implements added reporting criteria and supports alternate pathways for students pursuing diplomas.
By 2026, Georgia’s average student-teacher ratio stood at about 14:1, outpacing the national average of 15:1.
