Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of tweets on August 11, 2025, addressing crime rates in Washington, D.C., mental health issues in America, and her support for former President Donald Trump’s approach to law and order.

In her first tweet at 15:38 UTC, Greene stated: “Crime in our Democrat-run nation’s capital has hit a breaking point. Congressmen carjacked. Young interns murdered. Residents, and visitors from across our country and the world, living in fear. Thank you, President Trump, for restoring law and order in Washington, DC! “

Later that day at 16:09 UTC, she added: “Crime in Democrat-run Washington, DC is skyrocketing and among the worst in the world. What are Democrats up to? Still obsessed with letting men play in women’s sports. Americans demanded common sense and law & order in November. President Trump is delivering!”

Addressing mental health policy at 17:33 UTC on the same day, Greene tweeted: “Mental Health is a crisis in America. We should be investing in re-opening mental health hospitals instead of sending America’s hard earned tax dollars to foreign countries. Put America FIRST and fix America’s problems!!!”

Marjorie Taylor Greene has held her congressional seat through several election cycles. In 2024 she defeated Shawn Harris with 64.4% of the vote; prior victories include defeating Marcus Flowers in 2022 with 65.9% of the vote and Kevin Van Ausdal in 2020 with 74.7%. These electoral results have established her as a prominent Republican voice representing her district.

Greene’s recent statements reflect ongoing debates about public safety and domestic policy priorities within Congress.
