Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Georgia’s 14th district, has announced her legislative initiative through a series of tweets. Greene, who succeeded Tom Graves in 2021, has proposed the “No Tax on Home Sales Act” to address what she describes as an unfair tax burden on American homeowners.

On July 10, 2025, Rep. Greene tweeted: ” NO MORE TAXING THE AMERICAN DREAM! Families who work hard, build equity, and sell their homes shouldn’t be punished with a massive tax bill. I just introduced the No Tax on Home Sales Act to ELIMINATE the federal capital gains tax on home sales. This bill helps homeowners”. This statement underscores her position against federal capital gains taxes on home sales.

In a subsequent tweet on the same day at 17:57 UTC, Greene encouraged her followers to “Learn more about my bill: https://t.co/b2dee3jHxQ”, providing a link for additional information regarding her proposed legislation.

Continuing her advocacy for this initiative, Rep. Greene reiterated her stance on July 11, 2025: “Hardworking Americans shouldn’t be penalized with a massive tax bill for selling their homes. My No Tax on Home Sales Act ELIMINATES the federal capital gains tax on home sales. You earned it. You should keep it.” This tweet further emphasizes her commitment to protecting homeowners from financial penalties upon selling their properties.

Marjorie Taylor Greene was born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974 and is currently residing in Rome. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in 1996.
