Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a series of tweets on August 17 and 18, 2025, expressing support for former President Donald Trump and commenting on U.S. policy toward Ukraine and Russia.

On August 17, Greene wrote, “President Trump will achieve peace and prosperity!! In spite of all the haters, globalists, and those who want war to go on forever between Ukraine and Russia. Peace is going to happen!!” She followed this with another post later that day stating, “My personal thank you to President Trump for making Washington DC safe again!!”

The following day, Greene referenced her previous legislative efforts regarding U.S. aid to Ukraine: “In 2023, my resolution to audit Ukraine passed the House Foreign Affairs Committee, but never made it to the House floor for a vote which is a shame. I never voted to fund the Ukraine war. Tomorrow, Zelenskyy meets with President Trump. It’s time to end this war that cost”

Marjorie Taylor Greene has represented Georgia in Congress since 2021. She has consistently won re-election by significant margins; in 2024 she defeated Shawn Harris with 64.4% of the vote, in 2022 she beat Marcus Flowers with 65.9%, and in 2020 she prevailed over Kevin Van Ausdal with 74.7%. These electoral victories have established her as a prominent voice among Republican lawmakers.

Her recent comments come ahead of an anticipated meeting between former President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
