Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 14th district since 2021, expressed her views on social media regarding USA Fencing and its policies. Born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974, Greene is an alumna of the University of Georgia where she graduated with a BBA in 1996.

On May 7, 2025, Greene raised concerns about USA Fencing’s Chair Damien Lehfeldt by questioning his stance on gender issues. She stated, “I asked if USA Fencing’s Chair Damien Lehfeldt would want his daughter changing in front of a man. He couldn’t say ‘NO.’ That tells you EVERYTHING. These people have lost all common sense.”

Later that day, Greene criticized USA Fencing’s criteria for selecting event locations. She tweeted at 20:03 UTC, “USA Fencing picks event locations based on abortion access & LGBTQ politics, not athlete safety. What does abortion have to do with fencing? NOTHING.”

In another tweet posted at 20:37 UTC on the same day, Greene addressed comments made by Lehfeldt concerning women’s sports competitions against men. She asserted her position by stating, “The Chair of USA Fencing, Damien Lehfeldt, said he hopes his daughter doesn’t care if she loses to a man, as long as everyone ‘enjoys the match.’ This is sick! I will NEVER accept men beating women down in their own sports.” Greene concluded by supporting former President Trump’s actions and emphasized the need to codify such measures.

Marjorie Taylor Greene resides in Rome and continues to be an active voice on various political issues.
