U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has consistently won her congressional elections since 2020, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing government spending priorities, the ongoing government shutdown, and rising insurance costs.

On October 5, 2025, Greene wrote: “Correct. America can’t do anything exceptional because most of our leaders are obsessed with continuing our war (murder) economy and funding foreign wars and regime change in foreign countries. I always vote no, but it will never change until the American people demand it.”

The following day, she commented on the federal government shutdown: “The government is still shut down and notice that nothing has changed in your life, it’s just drama on tv. It’s all unnecessary drama.” This post was made on October 6, 2025.

Later that same day, Greene addressed concerns about affordability in key areas for Americans: “Hi this is your daily reminder that insurance has become UNAFFORDABLE for most Americans. Health, Auto, and Home. I wish my party would make this a priority.”

Greene’s comments come as she continues to serve as a prominent figure within her party. She secured her seat in Congress by defeating Shawn Harris in the 2024 general election with over 64% of the vote. In previous cycles, she also won against Marcus Flowers in 2022 and Kevin Van Ausdal in 2020 by significant margins.

Her recent posts reflect ongoing debates within Congress regarding U.S. military spending abroad and domestic policy priorities such as healthcare costs and the impact of federal government operations.
