U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, currently serving Georgia’s 14th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on March 7 and 8, 2026, expressing opposition to U.S. military actions involving Iran and the prospect of instituting a military draft.
On March 7, Greene questioned ongoing military operations with her post: “Why are we bombing Iranian children? Does it make the Iranian people thankful that we are “liberating” them when we are bombing their children?” She further commented on the situation earlier that evening, stating: “The ‘Peace President’ and founder and chair, without term limits, of the Board of Peace denies killing Iranian children, even though tragically we did. We have such a great military, filled with the greatest among us. This war should not be happening. It’s unfair to everyone.”
Continuing her criticism into the next day, Greene addressed comments made by Karoline Leavitt regarding the possibility of a draft: “Karoline Leavitt doesn’t rule out a draft. How about the answer is NO DRAFT AND NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND because we campaigned on NO MORE FOREIGN WARS OR REGIME CHANGE!!! Liars every single one of them! Not my son, over my dead body!!!!!”
Marjorie Taylor Greene has represented Georgia’s 14th District since replacing Tom Graves in 2021 and has won consecutive elections against Shawn Harris in 2024 (with 64.4% of the vote), Marcus Flowers in 2022 (65.9%), and Kevin Van Ausdal in 2020 (74.7%). Born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974, she currently resides in Rome.
