Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has represented Georgia’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, posted a series of critical statements on her social media account in early April 2026 regarding recent actions and speeches by former President Donald Trump and other elected officials.
On April 2, 2026, Greene expressed disappointment following a speech by Trump: “I wanted so much for President Trump to put America First. That’s what I believed he would do. All I heard from his speech tonight was WAR WAR WAR. Nothing to lower the cost of living for Americans. Nothing to reduce our near $40 trillion in debt. Nothing to save Social Security,” she wrote.
Later that day, Greene commented on U.S.-Israel relations and the influence of foreign policy interests in American politics: “Joe is right. But the problem is most of our elected leaders are bought and paid for by Israel so they won’t restrain them.”
Two days later, on April 4, Greene continued her criticism of Trump’s foreign policy decisions: “This was one of reasons many of us supported Donald Trump. Where has this man gone? Now he’s sending US troops into another Middle East war that will cost us trillions more and precious lives. No wonder he turned his back on me for fighting him to release the Epstein files.”
Greene’s comments come after several successful election campaigns; she defeated Shawn Harris in the 2024 general election with over 64% of the vote, Marcus Flowers in 2022 with nearly 66%, and Kevin Van Ausdal in 2020 with almost 75%. Born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974, Greene currently resides in Rome.
Her tenure began after replacing Tom Graves as representative for Georgia’s 14th district at the start of 2021.
