U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, currently serving Georgia’s 14th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on her official X (formerly Twitter) account between March 8 and March 9, 2026. In these posts, she addressed concerns over military drafts involving women, criticized the Republican Party’s recent actions, and expressed dissatisfaction with Senate votes regarding refugee welfare.
On March 8, Greene wrote: “They tried to add women to the draft to selective service multiple times while I was in Congress! Trump and Republicans need to guarantee they will NOT DRAFT OUR SONS AND NEVER DRAFT OUR DAUGHTERS to Trump’s senseless war in Iran!!!”
On March 9, Greene continued her criticism of Congressional Republicans by naming those who opposed an amendment related to refugee benefits: “These are the Republican Senators that voted NO on Sen Rand Paul’s amendment to cut taxpayer funded refugee welfare. The Republicans don’t deserve your support and neither do the Democrats because they both are America Last.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene has represented Georgia’s 14th District since replacing Tom Graves in 2021. She was born in Milledgeville in 1974 and currently resides in Rome at age 48. Greene has maintained strong electoral performances since first taking office; she won the general elections against Kevin Van Ausdal in 2020 with nearly three-quarters of the vote; Marcus Flowers in 2022 with about two-thirds; and Shawn Harris in 2024 by a similar margin.
Her recent posts reflect ongoing debates within Congress over military policy—including proposals involving selective service for women—as well as broader disagreements among Republican lawmakers on domestic spending priorities such as refugee assistance.
