Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 14th district, has taken to social media to express her views on recent political developments and controversies. Known for her outspoken nature, Greene has addressed issues ranging from tax legislation to personal political rumors.
On May 15, 2025, Greene commented on Representative Mike Lawler’s stance regarding SALT caps. She stated that “Mike Lawler introduced his own bill to raise SALT caps to $20,000 BUT NOW he refuses to vote for President Trump’s big beautiful bill claiming that the bill’s SALT caps being raised to $30,000 is not good enough!” She further claimed that “Mike Lawler never supported Trump and used to make fun of him.”
Later the same day, Greene addressed circulating rumors about her potential candidacy for Senate or other races. She clarified via Twitter that “I have never spoken with President Trump about running for Senate or any other race.” Greene suggested that consultants and aides were leaking information to shape a narrative about her intentions. Despite this, she reiterated her support for former President Trump.
In another post on May 15, 2025, Greene questioned the actions of Democrats concerning former President Trump. She tweeted “How many times are Democrats going to try to assassinate President Trump???” This comment was followed by a reference to former FBI Director James Comey.
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Tom Graves. Born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974 and currently residing in Rome, she graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
