U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican congresswoman from Georgia, posted a series of statements on her official X account in late August 2025 regarding school shootings and legislation she has introduced related to the protection of minors.

On August 27, 2025, Greene addressed a recent incident at a church school, writing, “Today’s evil church school shooter was a trans who was likely groomed and transitioned as a teenager. Congress MUST PASS my bill Protecting Children’s Innocence Act to make it a FELONY to perform sex change surgeries and all forms of medications on minors!!! According to court https://t.co/RkcQEwxEAn”

The following day, Greene expanded on her proposals for child safety in schools. On August 28, 2025, she stated: “If we are serious about protecting children.. 1. End gun free school zones and PROTECT children with armed guards just like Congress is protected with armed guards. 2. Pass my bill Protect Children’s Innocence Act (PCIA) that makes it an illegal felony to transition children.”

Later that day, Greene commented further on federal spending priorities and their relation to school safety: “Congress can stop school shootings, here’s how. Stop funding foreign countries and foreign wars and use those tax payer dollars to PROTECT OUR KIDS AT SCHOOL!!! https://t.co/ACPm8qOI5e”

Greene has represented Georgia’s 14th congressional district since her first election victory in 2020. She won reelection in subsequent cycles: defeating Kevin Van Ausdal in 2020 with nearly three-quarters of the vote; Marcus Flowers in 2022 with over 65% of the vote; and Shawn Harris in 2024 by a similar margin.

Her legislative proposal referenced in these posts is the Protecting Children’s Innocence Act (PCIA), which seeks to criminalize certain medical interventions for minors related to gender transition.
