Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a U.S. Congress member representing Georgia’s 14th district since 2021, has recently taken to social media to announce legislative efforts concerning children’s welfare. Greene, who succeeded Tom Graves in Congress and holds a BBA from the University of Georgia, made several statements on May 20, 2025.

On this date, Rep. Greene announced the reintroduction of her bill titled the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act” in the 119th Congress. In her tweet, she stated that her bill aims to “CODIFIES into law President Trump’s executive order protecting kids from barbaric genital mutilation surgeries under the guise of so-called ‘gender-affirming care'” and seeks to criminalize such procedures.

In a subsequent post shared shortly after, Greene provided a link for those interested in learning more about her proposed legislation.

Later that day, Greene expressed gratitude towards an organization called IWV for their support regarding her legislative initiative. She conveyed optimism about passing the bill with their backing in another tweet, emphasizing the importance of child protection.

Marjorie Taylor Greene was born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974 and currently resides in Rome.
