Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has represented Georgia’s 14th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, posted a series of statements on her social media account on April 16 and 17, 2026, addressing current national issues and clarifying her political stance.

On April 16, Greene commented on the state of government spending and its impact on Americans: “Today is the day most Americans pay their taxes and our government is spending roughly $2 billion a day on a war in Iran and Americans are now paying over $4 dollars on avg at the pump and many Americans can’t pay for health insurance. This was not supposed to happen. This is” (April 16, 2026).

Later that day, she distinguished herself from former President Donald Trump’s “MAGA” movement: “This is the most accurate explanation of what is happening to ‘MAGA’ To be clear, I am NOT Trump’s MAGA of whatever he says it is on any given day. That is Trump’s cult. I am America First. Always was, always will be. Whoever that offends, I really don’t care.” (April 16, 2026).

On April 17, Greene addressed potential regulatory changes affecting American consumers and manufacturers: “Effectively this would make many Americans angry. And it would only help China and India manufacturers. People love their peptides. And they hate Big Pharma control.” (April 17, 2026).

Greene has been an active figure in Georgia politics since winning her congressional seat in 2020 after defeating Kevin Van Ausdal with nearly three-quarters of the vote. She continued her electoral success by defeating Marcus Flowers in 2022 and Shawn Harris in 2024 with significant margins each time.

Born in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1974, Greene currently resides in Rome. She succeeded Tom Graves as representative for Georgia’s 14th district when she entered Congress.
