U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a series of statements on August 8, 2025, addressing recent political and law enforcement developments. Greene, who has secured victories in the last three general elections for her congressional seat, commented on topics ranging from special prosecutor appointments to local law enforcement budget cuts and national security measures.

In one post published at 17:48 UTC, Greene expressed gratitude for a new appointment in an ongoing investigation: “Huge thanks to @AGPamBondi for appointing Ed Martin as Special Prosecutor to investigate Letitia James & Adam Schiff. Both have built their careers on abusing power, lying to the public, and weaponizing the law against political opponents. It’s time for accountability! “

Later that day at 21:21 UTC, she discussed concerns about local police funding after visiting Collin County, Texas: “I thought defund the police was a thing of the past until I visited family in Collin County, Texas – the FASTEST AND WEALTHIEST GROWING COUNTY IN TEXAS!! The commissioners just cut the Sheriff Departments budget and are firing dozens of key people!! Why just why would a city”

At 22:21 UTC on the same day, Greene thanked former President Donald Trump for his approach to border security and combating organized crime: “Thank you, President Trump, for Making America Safe Again! These cartels are terrorist organizations, and they are flooding our communities with drugs and human trafficking. Unleashing the full power of our military to protect the American people from these thugs is exactly why”

Greene’s comments come after her repeated electoral successes in Georgia’s congressional races. In 2024 she defeated Shawn Harris with 64.4% of the vote; in 2022 she prevailed over Marcus Flowers with 65.9%; and in 2020 she won against Kevin Van Ausdal with nearly three-quarters of votes cast.
