Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican member of Congress, posted a series of statements on August 4, 2025, addressing federal debt, government funding deadlines, immigration policy, and legislation concerning gender-affirming care.

In her first post at 12:01 UTC, Greene commented on the state of congressional appropriations and the national debt: “Our nation is $37 TRILLION dollars in debt, we are approaching another September 30th government funding deadline, our Republican controlled Congress is no where near completing our appropriations bills, and we are out on recess until September 2nd. If the plan of action is”.

Later that day at 15:10 UTC, she addressed issues related to immigration and foreign policy: “End Indian H1-B visas replacing American jobs instead and stop funding and sending weapons to the Obama/Biden/Neocon Ukraine Russia war.”

At 18:53 UTC on the same day, Greene promoted her legislative efforts regarding medical care for minors: “My Protect Children’s Innocence Act codifies President Trump’s executive order into law and bans barbaric genital mutilation surgeries on children for good. Passing my bill will make so-called “gender-affirming care” illegal, no matter who’s in the White House.”

Greene has maintained a prominent position within her party since first being elected to Congress. She won re-election in 2024 against Shawn Harris with 64.4% of the vote to Harris’s 35.6%. In previous cycles, she defeated Marcus Flowers in 2022 with a similar margin (65.9% to 34.1%) and Kevin Van Ausdal in 2020 with an even larger margin (74.7% to 25.3%).
