Calhoun High School senior Isaac Tibbs has been named the 2026 PAGE STAR Student, according to an announcement by Kendra Arnold, Senior Counselor at Calhoun High School. The recognition is awarded to high school seniors in Georgia who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and earn the highest SAT score on a single test date within their graduating class.
Isaac Tibbs, son of Kristopher and Natalie Tibbs, selected Mrs. Kelli DeGuire, an English teacher at Calhoun High School, as his STAR Teacher as part of the honor.
The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program is managed by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and the PAGE Foundation. Since its start in 1958, nearly 30,000 students and teachers across Georgia have received recognition through this initiative. To qualify for nomination, students must rank among the top performers in both SAT scores and grade point average within their class.
“Each year, STAR recognition begins at the high school level, where the STAR Student selects a STAR Teacher to share in the achievement. Students and teachers receive recognition from their schools and communities and may advance to system, region, and state-level honors. STAR Teachers continue alongside their students at each level of the program.”
In addition to administering the STAR Program, PAGE also supports other initiatives such as the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades and the Georgia Academic Decathlon to encourage academic excellence among students statewide.
Calhoun City Schools extended congratulations to Isaac Tibbs and Mrs. Kelli DeGuire for their accomplishments.
