Calhoun City Schools has announced plans to enhance its athletic facilities with new construction and renovations. These improvements are being funded by E-SPLOST dollars and are aimed at improving the experience for students and the school community.

The highlights of the project include a new two-story athletic fieldhouse designed to serve as a hub for the school’s athletic programs. The facility will offer advanced training spaces, meeting rooms, and support areas.

Additionally, a multipurpose hitting facility with four lanes will be constructed, providing students with a year-round space for training. It is an all-weather indoor facility that offers space for various programs.

Renovations will be made to the middle school gym team locker rooms, creating a modern and secure space for student-athletes. The middle school weight room will be upgraded with new equipment and an improved layout to enhance safety and performance for students of all athletic programs.

The baseball dugouts will also be improved, focusing on enhancing functionality, safety, and comfort for both players and coaches.

These initiatives are seen as a step forward for Calhoun City Schools’ student-athletes. Construction will begin on May 5, 2025, and is expected to complete in the summer of 2026. The school has expressed anticipation of sharing updates with the community as the projects progress.

The announcement concludes by expressing gratitude to the community for its support in investing in the future of Calhoun City Schools.
