Calhoun City Schools has announced a partnership with Mountain Education, Inc. to offer evening classes starting in the 2025–2026 school year. This new program will operate at Calhoun Middle School, marking the 19th North Georgia campus for Mountain Ed. The initiative aims to provide students with additional options for credit recovery, flexible scheduling, and college and career support.

Dr. Brandi Hayes and Mrs. Misty Lewis will lead the evening program as site principals while continuing their current roles within Calhoun City Schools. Dr. Hayes serves as Director of College and Career Programs, focusing on Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education pathways and Dual Enrollment initiatives. She is recognized for her efforts in expanding student opportunities and was named the 2022 Administrator of the Year by the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education.

Mrs. Misty Lewis, a Calhoun High School alumna, brings extensive experience to her role as Assistant Principal at Calhoun High School. Her career began in Burke County before returning to Calhoun in 2018 where she has held various teaching and administrative positions.

Both educators express enthusiasm about contributing their leadership skills to this new venture at Calhoun City Schools.

The partnership aims to expand learning pathways and support diverse academic needs through a flexible approach centered on students.
