Calhoun City Schools has announced that all students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2025–2026 school year. This initiative is made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a federal program supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Under CEP, families are not required to submit meal applications, and every enrolled student automatically qualifies for free meals at school.
The district expressed gratitude for the support of its School Nutrition Department, led by Director Kim Kiker, as well as the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Michele Taylor and the Board of Education. The initiative prioritizes student health and wellness by ensuring access to nutritious meals each day.
“By ensuring access to nutritious meals each day, CCS remains committed to supporting the whole child—fueling learning, growth, and success inside and outside the classroom.”
